- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪My child was ill so I took her to closest facility covered by our insurance. She was refused care even though she was already in the facility and presented with fever and increased heart rate. I answered all questions about her symptoms and was told I need to take her to the E.R. Why? When I was told upon entering that I could walk my child in to see a pediatrician. I was asked several times about my insurance!?! Nurse feigned concern about what kind of bill I might receive if my child was treated there?! Spouse works for the county so I am pretty sure county insurance covers the county hospital and medical clinics. Anyway, let her parents worry about the bill for our child's care as long as she receives quality care. This was the worst experience I have ever had in El Paso. If my child couldn't be seen because she already had a PCP which I mentioned upon entering, I should have been told at the front desk. This was not a good experience.December 16, 2016by Crystal Simon
